Yahoo. Is it really worth $ 44.6 Billion?

Yesterday, 1st of February, CEO Steve Ballmer made the offer in a letter to Yahoo’s board of directors. “By combining the assets of Microsoft and Yahoo, we can offer a more competitive choice for consumers, advertisers and publishers,” he said. Microsoft wants to move this way as the online advertising market is dominated by one player, and the merge between Microsoft and Yahoo would offer a more competitive alternative.

Yahoo directors replied that they will carefully review Microsoft’s proposal. Microsoft even wants to pay Yahoo’s engineers not to leave the company after the possible merge. But many may do so, as their projects could be sent to trash. “If Microsoft were to seek a more integrated company [with Yahoo], certain products or brands would be favored and others discontinued,” Sterling said.

This merge could get very interesting, no? I mean, what would be the name? Can you figure one? There’s definitely tons of comments for this one, so don’t be shy.

Cheers!
